A Couple of of Poker’s Nice Players
No Joke, countless of individuals are trying to be the next "star" in poker, but here is a short list of four of the more noteworthy "nice players" of poker. Even though "nice" is associated with their names when you are at a poker table it is "no more Mr. Nice guy" until they have put you out of the competition!
Daniel Negreanu
In Two Thousand and Four, his tournament payouts added up to more than $4.4 million and he came away with 2 immensely admired awards in the World Series of Poker Player of the Year and Cardplayer Magazine’s Competition Player of the Year. In Feb 2006 he was named Card Player’s Favourite Poker Player. Daniel still has the decency to speak to his fans about how they might advance their own game.
Howard Lederer
Called "The Professor" and brother of fellow poker pro Annie Duke. His achievements have lead to him making an instructional poker video called "Secrets of No Limit Hold’em" and also hosting a tournament poker show for Fox. As of Two Thousand and Five, his total life earnings exceed 2.7 million dollars.
Scotty Nguyen
Scott is 1 of the most active players in professional poker and from Two Thousand to Two Thousand and Four he ranked in the money in well over 100 competitions. He’s noted for saying "yeah baby" throughout poker games and also credited with the phrase "that’s poker baby" when referring to a particularly bad loss. As of Two Thousand and Six, his life time earnings are almost $6 million.
Chris Ferguson
Chris has captured five WSOP titles with 2 of his successes coming in 2003. Has the nickname "Jesus" because of his characteristic long hair and beard, along with his ability to throw cards quick enough to slice through pickles and bananas. As of 2005 his total live poker tournament winnings exceeded five million dollars.
