NL Texas Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?
Phil Ivey has been branded as the number one poker player on the planet by quite a few of the top-ranked pros. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to New Jersey before reaching turning 1. His grandpa introduced him to one cent-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From then on on, Phil was addicted to poker and wished to pickup anything he could about the game. Phil routinely told his elders that he wanted to be a professional poker player. He didn’t permit the detrimental comments from others kill his dream of being one of the greatest poker players in the world.
Phil began playing intently after acquiring a fake ID with the name of Jerome. He honed his skills at the casinos of Atlantic City. The beginning few years for Phil were a learning experience and coming away with a win was not a normal thing at the time. Phil made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker where he made two final tables and won his first World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the closing table he destroyed many of the well known professionals including "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
He made a decision to take his skills to the successive level and moved out west to Sin City. Phil continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players in the world. Ivey credits his success to hard work and an immeasurable love for poker. He states that he is picking up skills every single day and is incredibly abashed about his success. He knows he makes mistakes in each session of poker and constantly aspires to improve.
Despite the fact that Phil has come first in some big tournaments, he prefers winning money games on a regular basis.
