Online High Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen
Gus Hansen experienced an amazing year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only gambler to make it to the last game in three of the events. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You might recall one of the biggest pots in big stakes poker recorded history against Daniel Negreanu. Gus secured a big pot with quads against Negreanu’s full house. Gus has made many tv poker appearances and is considered to be one of the greatest enthusiasts in the world. While playing web poker, another side of Hansen has been seen. Gus regularly competes in the 200/400 NL maximum buy in of $40, 000. Gus generally buys in for the minimum of Sixteen Thousand dollars and plays very poorly. He waits patiently for a good hand and then pushes all in. I believe Gus is an excellent poker player but certainly not even close to the regular players at 200/400NL. Unless he is bankrupt, he has no reason to play at the game with the minimum buy-in.
Buying in for the minimum takes most of the skill out of deep stack poker. Hansen is supposed to be 1 of the greatest players anywhere in the world but he can’t buy-in for the total dollar value. I believe tv can alter our perception of the real world sometimes. The best poker players anywhere in the world may be players you have will not have heard about. Gus can be seen competing in web poker on Full Tilt. He commonly plays in high stakes Omaha and texas hold’em. Gus Hansen has proven himself as a tournament player. Can he back up his abilities in cash games?
