Just Before you Tilt
Ah, the poker tilt. If a poker enthusiast states at no time to have peered down the shadow of an approaching poker tilt – they’re either lying or they haven’t been betting for a long time. Hands that frequently cause players to go on tilt are hands you were the favorite or at a minimum thought you were until you were side swiped and you burned a gigantic portion of your bankroll. Awful beats are going to happen. Accept that certainty right now, I will say it once again – if your siblings play cards, if your parents play cards, if your grandpa enjoys cards – We all have bad beats at some point. It is an unavoidable effect of participating in Texas Holdem, or really any kind of poker.
Since we are assumingly (most of us) playing poker for one reason – to make cash, it certainly makes sense that we would wager accordingly to maximize profits. Now let’s say you are up $100 off of a 100 dollars deposit, and you take a gigantic hit in a No Limits game and your stack is only has remaining one hundred and twenty dollars. You have burned eighty dollars in a round where you were assured to pick up $200two hundred dollars when you went all-in on the flop and had a ten to one advantage. And that guy! He sucked you out on the river? – Well stop right there. This is a quintessential opportunity for a brand-new gambler to start tilting. They basically burned too much money on one hand that they should have won and they’re angry
