Four of Poker’s Great Players
Beyond a doubt countless of people strive to be the next "mega star" in poker, but here is a short list of four of the more well known "charming pros" of the game. Although "nice" is connected with their names when you are at a poker table it’s "no more Mr. Nice guy" up until they have put you out of the game!
Daniel Negreanu
In Two Thousand and Four, his competition earnings amounted to in excess of $4.4 million and he won 2 immensely respected awards in the World Series of Poker Player of the Year and Cardplayer Magazine’s Tournament Player of the Year. In Feb 2006 he was chosen Card Player’s Favourite Poker Player. Daniel even still has the humility to talk to his fans about how they could advance their own game.
Howard Lederer
Called "The Professor" and brother of fellow poker pro Annie Duke. His accomplishments have lead to him making an educational poker video named "Secrets of No Limit Hold’em" and also hosting a tournament poker show for Fox TV. As of Two Thousand and Five, his complete life winnings exceed $2.7 million.
Scotty Nguyen
Scotty is one of the busiest players in professional poker and between Two Thousand to Two Thousand and Four he ranked in the money in well over 100 competitions. He is notorious for saying "yeah baby" throughout poker matches and also coined the term "that’s poker baby" when alluding to a particularly bad defeat. As of Two Thousand and Six, his career winnings are almost 6 million dollars.
Chris Ferguson
Chris has won five WSOP titles with two of his successes coming in 2003. Chris has the nickname "Jesus" as a result of his trademark long hair and beard, and is able to throw playing cards quick enough to cut through pickles and bananas. As of Two Thousand and Five his total live poker tournament earnings exceeded $5 million.
