No-Limit Hold’em Poker- Howard Lederer?
Howard Lederer grew up in a family of five where he enjoyed gambling on various card games when he was young. He discovered himself getting very competitive in these particular card games while playing his father. After finishing secondary school, Howard decided to place college on hold for a little bit and headed to New York to play some formidable chess. While participating in chess, he was introduced to a poker game going on in the rear of the room. Howard’s initial 2 years were tough as he would play countless hours and do not win most times. He made some additional money by being an assistant for the poker players. He theorized he might improve his game by balancing his life away from poker. He brought about an effort to acquire more rest and focus attention more on the game.
The actual improvement in his game began when he started gambling at the Mayfair Club in New York. The Mayfair was a bridge and backgammon association where the greatest players would often play against one another. He had access into several of the foremost minds in chess. With their assistance, Howard Lederer would tweak his logical thinking abilities. He used these strategic concepts in the game of NL hold’em.
Howard also helped his sister Annie Duke master poker. Annie was a superb student of the game as she constantly asked questions about how to make the proper decision. Howard told Annie Duke to move out to Vegas and compete in the World Series of Poker tournaments. Annie Duke is one of the best women players the poker world ever. Howard moved to Vegas in 1993 and competed in cash games for the successive decade. When the WPT gained popularity, Howard decided to compete in more tournaments.
