Web High Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen
Gus Hansen had a marvelous year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only one to make it to the final table in 3 of the competitions. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You might recall one of the biggest pots in big stakes poker recorded history against Daniel Negreanu. Gus raked in a large pot with 4 of a kind against Daniel’s full house. Hansen has earned many televised poker appearances and is deemed to be one of the strongest enthusiasts around the world. While playing web poker, a different side of Hansen has been seen. Gus regularly participates in the 200/400 No Limit maximum buy-in of Forty Thousand dollars. Gus generally buys in for the min of Sixteen Thousand dollars and plays very weak. He waits patiently for a good hand and then pushes all-in. I believe Hansen is an amazing poker player but certainly not even close to the regular players at 200/400no limit. Unless Gus is broke, he has no reason to sit at the game with the min buy-in.
Buying in for the min takes a majority of the ability out of big stack poker. Gus is assumed to be one of the best players anywhere in the world but he cannot buy-in for the total amt.. I think television can alter our view of the real world at times. The greatest poker players anywhere in the world might just be players you have never heard of before. Gus can be found playing internet poker on Full Tilt. He usually plays in big stakes Omaha and texas hold’em. Gus has shown himself as a competition player. Can he use his skills in cash rounds?
